The National Democratic Congress, NDC, has questioned the feasibility and genuineness of the NPP’s promise of free Senior High School.

According to the party, when the New Patriotic Party, NPP extended the secondary education from three years to four years, not a single facility was added to the existing ones to accommodate the students.

It was rather the NDC that had to construct more than 600 facilities to cater for the students.

Addressing a large crowd at Yamfo in the Tano District of the Brong Ahafo Region, the Minister of Transport and MP for Asutifi South, Alhaji Collins Dauda, described the NPP’s free senior high school promise as another attempt to cause havoc to the future of Ghanaian children, because the country needs more teachers, facilities and teaching and learning materials in place before rolling out such a programme.

Though Yamfo is said to be an NPP strong hold, the people came out in their numbers dressed in NDC T’ shirts and paraphernalia to attend the rally.

Minister of Transport and MP for Asutifi South, Alhaji Collins Dauda, asked parents to examine critically the NPP and Nana Addo’s promise of free Senior High School in order not to jeopardize the future of their children.

Alhaji Collins Dauda said the NDC in the next term will construct 200 community secondary schools and 10 more teacher training colleges to address the issue of access and quality.

He said the NDC has been truthful and transparent with the people and can therefore be trusted to manage the affairs of the state.

Alhaji Dauda asked the people to vote massively for the NDC.

Vice President Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur cautioned parents against buying into Nana Addo’s free Senior High School.

He asked the people to vote massively for President Mahama and the parliamentary candidate for Tano North Apraku Lartey.

Vice President Amissah-Arthur also addressed a large rally at Terchire. The community has been a strong hold of the NDC since 1992.

He assured them that the government will not turn its back on them. They should continue to remain loyal to the NDC, which still has their welfare at heart.
