The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has appointed Professor Mark Adom-Asamoah as the Acting Pro-Vice-Chancellor.
Prof. Adom-Asamoah, currently the senior-most Provost, had since 2016 been the Provost of the College of Engineering.
His appointment is in accordance with KNUST’s Statute 13 (e).
A statement issued by the University, a copy made available to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Kumasi, indicated that: “Following the appointment of Prof. Mrs. Rita Akosua Dickson, as the 11th Vice-Chancellor, the Office of Pro Vice-Chancellor has become vacant.”
It said Prof. Adom-Asamoah’s appointment, which took effect from August 01, 2020, therefore, was to fill that vacuum until a substantive Pro-Vice-Chancellor was appointed.
