The Presidency would today hold a crunch meeting with the Government and Hospital Pharmacists Association, (GHOPSA) over the pharmacists intended nationwide strike scheduled to begin on February 22.
This would be followed by a meeting with the National Labour Commission (NLC) on Wednesday.
Speaking to Citi News the president of GHOPSA Stephen Corquaye indicated that there have been new developments after the Association issued a threat.
According to him, a representative from the NLC invited the group and the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) for a meeting on Wednesday after a meeting with the Chief of Staff.
So the outcome of these two meetings would inform our next line of action he said.
He explained that the conversion difference, the market premium and the migration to the single spine salary structure has affected them tremendously.
Our migration to the spine has been a disaster, making us worse off than what we were receiving before we were migrated he lamented.
It has also affected our SSNIT contribution tremendously he added.
The pharmacists have so far embarked on three industrial actions on the same issue of market premium and grading structure.
