Hundreds of queen mothers and health experts in the Ashanti Region were last Saturday led by the wife of the Asantehene, Lady Julia Osei, as they embarked on a walk.
The two-hour health walk is geared towards reducing health bill in Ghana.
The group were first taken through an aerobics exercise at the Manhyia Palace before brisk walking from the palace to the airport roundabout and back to the palace.
In partnership with the Coca-Cola Company, the aim of the programme is to create awareness in the queen mothers that exercising on a regular basis, could prolong their lifespan.
Last Saturday’s event was to round up this year’s ‘Third Lady Julia Osei-Tutu Annual Nutrition Forum’. The theme for it is ‘Moderation and exercise, essential ingredients in maintaining a balanced and healthy lifestyle’.
