A strange rainstorm on Saturday ripped-off roofs of six commercial stores in the Hohoe Township, opposite the Coca Cola Depot, destroying items worth thousands of cedis.
The storm, which lasted for about twenty minutes, destroyed items including clothing, food, foam mattresses and cement worth several thousands of cedis.
A 33-seater Benz bus, which was about to load to Kumasi at the terminus, had its windscreen smashed by a kiosk being carried by the storm.
Madam Janet Alovor, Proprietress of Remember Stores, which had its roof ripped off, said rainwater destroyed most of her wares worth thousands of cedis.
Mr Gabriel Deh, Hohoe Municipal Coordinator of National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), said his office was assessing the situation and expressed his condolences to the affected people.
