This footbridge over the Kakum River linking Kwaprow to Ankaful and neighbouring communities in the Cape Coast metropolis was constructed in 2000 and collapsed in 2002.
The bridge has become very dangerous to use as the planks of trees provided by the assemblyman has become weak making it dangerous to use by the over 20 satellite farming communities.
Due to the situation, commuters now have to make detours over long distances before reaching their destination. The people are appealing to the Cape Coast Metropolitan assembly to come to their aid before the next raining season as most of their farm produce went bade this year because they could not get to their farms to bring their product to the market on time.
