Some communities in the Suhum Kraboa Coaltar District have asked the Department of Feeder Road to reshape the Suhum Dokrochewa feeder road linking the main Suhum Asamankese Highway.
The communities are Tetekasum, Godziase, Kwame Kyere and Oboango.
The road used by some farming and fishing communities around the Kua River are finding it difficult to travel to marketing centres, due to its undulating and slippery nature.
An opinion leader, Mr. Mathew Narh, stated at Dokrochewa, on Friday, that several appeals to the district assembly for assistance had not been successful.
According to him, through self-help with hoes, spades and cutlasses, the residents tried to maintain the road for vehicles to continue to ply because no major rehabilitation work had been undertaken.
He, however, noted that attempts by some communities to reshape their portions of the road, had worsened the situation.
