The Nanumba North District Security Council in the Northern Region has relaxed the curfew imposed on Bimbila.
The military command in the area imposed a dusk to dawn curfew on Bimbila Township following the outbreak of violence between some supporters of the two rival chiefs, Nakpaa-Naa Salifu Dawuni and Naa Andani.
At first, people were not able to pray at the mosques and gradually people are able to pray congregationally. Presently the town of Bimbilla has been very quiet, Mohammed Aminu Alabila, a local reporter in Bimbila told Citi News.
The decision to impose the curfew on the area was meant to curtail any possible bloodbath.
