The Awoamefia of Anlo, Togbui Sri, has called for peace and calm in areas recently engulfed with communal clashes.
Last week, there was a clash between Fantes and Ewes in Ekumfi-Narkwa in the Central region, which was followed by another clash between residents of Anlo Kordzi in Ho and the police.
Within the past two days, youth of the Zongo community in Hohoe have also clashed with the indigenes of the town leading to the imposition of a curfew on Hohoe.
Speaking to Radio Ghana, Togbui Sri expressed fear that if urgent steps are not taken to curtail the wave of attacks, they could degenerate into bigger clashes.
However, the Awoamefia who is a former Commissioner of Police is confident the Security Agencies are capable of handling the situation.
Meanwhile, the Chief of Peki, Togbe Ayim Mordey is also calling for calm in the Hohoe District following last Saturdays clashes.
Togbe Ayim asked the people to resort to the use of dialogue in settling their differences.
Speaking to Radio Ghana ahead of a planned visit to Hohoe, he emphasised the need to live in peace.
