The Paramount Chief of Gomoa Akyempim Traditional Area, Obrifo Ahunako Ahor Ankobea II, has appealed to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to reconsider the decision to boycott the inauguration of the President -elect on January 7.
He appealed to the leadership of the NPP not to use the petition filed at the Supreme Court against the conduct of the presidential election as a license to boycott the inauguration of the President-elect.
Have confidence in the Judiciary that your petition would be attended to and wait patiently for the court to decide, Obrifo Ahunako Ahor Ankobea told the GNA in an interview, adding that Ghana had gained reputation world-wide as the beacon of democracy in Africa and this must be protected.
Let us all protect and jealously guard against the countrys enviable record in democracy, the Paramount Chief said and appealed to the 2012 flagbearer of the party, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to do his best to ensure that the boycott decision is rescinded.
