Tens of students of the University of Ghana have been arrested by the Police for unlawful assembly on Saturday.
The students, majority of which were from Commonwealth Hall were picked up at Tetteh Quarshie.
According to the Police, the students failed to provide prior notification of their intended march, thus their arrest.
According to the Greater Accra Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Freemen Tetteh the march was in breach of the Public Order Act.
The students, according to DSP Freeman Tetteh, will be processed and released subsequently.
President of the Students Representative Council, Edmund Kombat however says the march was part of activities to herald their hall week celebrations.
