The Yeji Police Command has offered asylum to Fulani herdsmen who live and work on the outskirts of the town.
Three Fulani men were killed on Saturday morning in Yeji in the Brong Ahafo Region leading to the breakout of some pockets of violence on Saturday.
Reports also indicated that, an indigene of Yeji was stabbed to death on Friday night.
Some residents of the town who spoke to Citi News said the man had been killed by Fulani men thus leading to reprisal attacks on the Fulani community on Saturday morning.
After attacking the community, the people of Yeji are reported to have launched a shoot out on the cattle as well.
When contacted, the Yeji Police Command said they were investigating the murders but had managed to evacuate the Fulani men and their families to a safe area.
The National Fulani Chief, Alhaji Mohammed Bingle, however told Citi News his people were grateful to the police.
They were actually very happy. They [police] have evacuated them from their various homes in the bush; these Fulanis settle on the outskirts of Yeji... People are attacking them in that place; they are shooting the cattle so now majority of them are in Yeji Township.
