The primary duty of the police is to keep law and order but who’s responsibility is it to keep the police in check if they clearly flout the law?
Well, a concern indigene of Sunyani, the capital city of the Brong Ahafo Region has elected himself to confront DCOP Robert Ayalingo, who has been on retirement since 7th September but still carries himself as the Regional Commander of the Police Service, in spite of the fact that the Ghana Police Service has appointed a successor.
According to Kwame Barfour, popularly known as Abronye DC, who spoke to Adakabre Frimpong Manso, the host of ‘Me Man Nti’ on NEAT FM, DCOP Patrick Adusei Sarpong has been appointed as the Acting Regional Commander whiles DCOP Ayalingo prepares his handing over notes to him. But it seems the handing over note-taking is taking forever to get done.
Moreover, “he is passed the retirement age. If he would be truthful with his age, he would be well over 70 years. He wants to be like Mugabe but we are not in Zimbabwe”.
Abronye DC threatened to organize people to help him strip Mr. Ayalingo whom he describes as a former Police commander, off his post, to clear the confusion off the minds of the people of Bring Ahafo Region, as to who the Regional Police Commander really is.
