Demonstrating youth of the Ayawaso East and West constituencies in Accra, have clashed with Police officers who attempted botching up the unpermitted demonstration.
The group served media notice of the demonstration last week but the Police ordered the youth to put the demonstration on hold since they did not have the permit to go ahead with the demonstration.
The defiant demonstrators, mainly from Nima, an area prone to violence, set bonfires on the Kanda highway to protest against the delay in completing a drainage project started in the community two years ago.
The youth massed up near the Accra Girls Senior High School in readiness to confront the Police.
According to reports, the Police is having it difficult in breaking up the rampaging youth who have vowed to engage the security personnel.
