President John Dramani Mahama has urged Ghanaians to take a rest from their official duties as part of their work principles.
Addressing a section of the media at the Flagstaff House on Tuesday, President Mahama advised the nation to seek time off their schedules to relax their bodies because it would make them "more refreshed. It makes you able to see things in clearer focus. And it makes you healthy. And so, I think that everybody must take a leave from time to time and just rest and recharge your batteries."
He also stressed that taking leave from an organization or government enhances good governance and in his view, nobody should be indispensable to his country or his organization.
I believe that it is important for people to take a rest from time to time; whoever you are...Everybody should be able to go on leave. The organizations should continue to work perfectly. So, I will encourage everybody to take a leave and we will put in the administrative measures to ensure that everybody takes a leave at the appropriate time," the President said.
