THERE WAS fire outbreak at the Kwadaso SDA Nursing School in Kumasi, Thursday morning, causing massive destruction to several important items.
The inferno, which started around 7:30 am, consumed the accounts and the chaplainís offices of the school before it was eventually quenched by fire fighters.
The flames, travelling at top speed, burnt into ashes computers, files and other key school documents that were being kept at the accounts office.
What caused the fire could not be immediately ascertained as people at the scene gave different narrations.
Most of the people however, suspected that the incessant power fluctuations at the school on the day might have started the fire.
The students were said to be having their usual morning devotion when they spotted thick smoke emanating from the accounts office.
The entire students and the teachers rushed to the scene, disrupting the morning devotion.
Some staffers started battling the blaze with fire extinguishers as fire fighters were called to help douse the blaze.
The timely arrival of fire fighters from the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) who hurriedly doused the fire, which was on the top floor of the four-storey building, reportedly saved other offices from being gutted.
Some of the fire fighters that the paper contacted said it was too early to speculate what indeed caused the fire.
They said investigations into what really started the blaze had just begun.
DAILY GUIDE gathered that the fire outbreak affected the usual smooth academic work.
