The Brazilian contractor tasked with the Central Market Kejetia project, has handed over a developed 12 acre temporary transport terminal at the Race Course in Kumasi to the KMA to aid relocation of transport operators at the Kejetia Terminal.
The 40 thousand square kilometer transport terminal has 18 sheds and two multi-faceted toilet facilities.
Traders at the Kejetia Terminal due to be relocated have raised red flags over lack of alternate arrangements to take the over 3000 traders.
But City mayor Kojo Bonsu after touring the completed facility today has indicated the assembly’s readiness to provide alternatives and compensate traders who will be affected by the Central Market Redevelopment project.
On the traders recent accusations ongoing registration is not transparent, he noted that a website will soon be outdoored to enable traders check their details.
