The Minister of the Interior has on the advice of the Northern Regional Security Council and by Executive Instrument renewed the Curfew hours on the Bunkpurugu Township from 4.00pm to 6:00am effective August 28.
In view of the District Level Elections, the curfew hours for only Tuesday 1t September 2015 will be observed from 7:00pm to 6:00am.
Mr Mark Woyongo announced this in a statement in Accra on Friday, and copied the Ghana News Agency.
He said Government would continue to urge chiefs, opinion leaders, youth and people of the area to exercise restraint in the face of the challenges confronting them and to use non-violent means to channel their energies into ensuring peace.
Meanwhile, there is a total ban on all persons in the Bunkpurugu Township and surrounding areas from carrying arms, ammunition or any offensive weapon as any person found with any arms or ammunition would be arrested and prosecuted.
