Three traders sustained serious gun-shot wounds while one person died on the Kwahu Ridge following a robbery incident.
The traders were reportedly attacked by armed robbers on the Nkawkaw-Simpoa road in the early hours of Thursday.
An eyewitness narrating the incident to Peace FM's Eastern Regional correspondent Michael Akrofi revealed that the robbery occurred when a Kia truck carrying the passengers and their goods were raided by the robbers suspected to be Fulanis.
The robbers opened fire on them which resulted in the death of one person, leaving several others injured.
The eyewitness added that the robbers bolted into the bush after realizing the massive traffic that had built-up on the road as a result of their operation.
They made away with some valuable items belonging to the passengers.
