The Cocoa Processing Company (CPC) Limited has temporally shut down two of its cocoa processing plants due to what it describes as operational challenges.
According to an internal circular; to its staff, the shutdown took effect from Monday, January 25, 2016 and it will remain so until further notice.
Management has therefore directed all staff of the affected department to stay at home as part of their annual leave while the factory remains shut down.
It is however unclear why the company has taken such drastic decision especially in the wake of high cost of electricity and petroleum products.
