President John Mahama has officially inaugurated the completed Kwame Nkrumah Circle interchange to open access to traffic from all directions.
The event attracted hundreds of people who wanted to catch a glimpse of the widely publicized project, one of the flagship intiatives by the President and his government in the road sector.
A statue of Ghana's First President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, has been placed at the heart of the Circle interchange to reflect the interchange which also comes with additional facilities including a Police Post and a Clinic.
The Neoplan and Tema Stations have also been reconstructed.
One specific aspect of the project which has been the side of attraction in the nights is the "dancing fountain" which has become the cynosure of all eyes.
Some have described it as a mini-Dubai.
The Police MTTU and other law enforcement officers within the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) have been deployed to help motorists who plying the route for the first time and other new diversions to adjoining routes.
The 74.88 million Euro project was jointly financed with credit from the Brazilian Government and the Ghana Government.

Kwame Nkrumah Circle Interchange
Other projects besides the iconic Kwame Nkrumah interchange which are also scheduled for inauguration later this month are the James-Town-Bukom ultramodern boxing arena and the new liquid waste treatment plant, to make way for the eternal closure of lavender hill which ahs been in existence for the past 60 years.
President John Mahama is also expected to inaugurate the Kasoa interchange to traffic before the elections and later break grounds for the one billion dollar expansion works on the Tema Harbour and Motorway to commence.
He would also dedicate the new Sekondi-Takoradi-Kojokrom railway line.

Yes, he didn't deliver on all his campaign promises but what he has done within four years Kuffour couldn't do within eight years. JM toaso wai
@Yoko, here in Ghana what matters to us are roads, hospitals etc. America was once at this stage in its history. Anyway, Trump will soon yank you out of the US so you can come and enjoy our asphalt roads which you nevere contributed to build. JM all the way
