Former Member of Parliament for Asokwa, Maxwell Kofi Jumah has rendered an unqualified apology to the Coalition of Concerned Teacher (CCT) over his comments in response to an ultimatum to the president-elect for the restoration of teacher trainee allowances.
The Former Deputy Local Government Minister and Rural Development described as ridiculous the call by the Coalition of Concerned Teachers (CCT) on president-elect, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to restore teacher trainee allowances within its first 100 days in office.
Reacting to the coalition’s call, Mr Jumah said it was unfair on their part to give the incoming NPP an ultimatum.
“Nana Akufo-Addo made a promise and it spans for four years. But to put a gun to his head and give him an ultimatum of 100 days, that is what is ridiculous. If they know how to give ultimatums, I think that they should redirect their ultimatum to the previous government,” he stated.
But after being tongue-lashed for his comments, Mr Jumah claimed he was caught off guard while granting the interview and should therefore be pardoned.
He shared his apology on his official facebook wall.
“My friends, thanks for your advice and direction. It was never my intention to attack teachers as a whole. Indeed I am very much aware of the overwhelming support that the NPP got from teachers. I went overboard and I sincerely apologize for that. I was caught off guard. And it was very unfortunate. I sincerely believe Nana will deliver on his promise to our teachers and to Ghanaians. Once again accept my apologies”

hon you have proved that, you are a brave person
HEHEHEHEHEHEEE!!!!!,THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING.
Hon, you have many people who look up to you for exemplary leadership. It is not right to always be apologizing because of what you say or do. So please let this be the last apology because some of us get too hurt when we see/hear you committing such errors. Thanks
did you say 2 years. I taught Dr. Alhaji Bawumia knows everything.
Mr Kofi Jumah. This is one apology too many. Be always careful of your actions and comments so you don't always to come back to apologise. Remember these actions and comments will be played back at you in the future when you are being considered for any high office of the land.
Even an old man realize his talks were cheap and has apologised but the arrogance in NDC people wont permit them to apologise even if prompted.Teachers should stop the rush the man is not yet sworn in and u are demanding so quick forgeting is both teachers and nurses so lets wait and see what we got in our cofex cos even if it takes 2yrs before it wil be restored surely it will, the battle is still the Lords
Concerned teachers are truly not thinking . why rush Nana.... they are not worth teaching Ghanaian children
God is in control.Your apology well taken but be guided well next time. Concern! Resolute Brong Ahafo Regional Secretary of CCT,GH.
