President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Mr Daniel Domelovo as the new Auditor-General.
A letter sighted by citifmonline.com, signed by the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, said the appointed took effect from 23rd December, 2016.
The letter said Mr Domelovo had to confirm his acceptance of the appointment by Wednesday, 28th December, 2016.
“His Excellency the President, John Dramani Mahama, acting in consultation with the Council of State, accordance with Article 70 of the 1992 Constitution, has appointed you as Auditor-General with effect from 23rd December, 2016.”
“Until the approval of the Report of the Prof. Boandoh Committee on Emoluments, the salary and allowances payable to the facilities and privileges available to you shall be indicated in the Prof. Ewurama Addy Committee Report”
“The provisions of the Article 146 of the 1992 Constitution relating to the removal of from Office of a Justice of the Superior Court of Judicature Shall apply to you.”
Mr Domelovo’s appointment comes after President Mahama’s appointment of a new Commissioner for the Commission of Human Right and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) as well as the National Commission on Civic Education (NCCE).
The President, who will be leaving office in about two weeks has come under heavy criticisms for his appointments which many say are deliberate attempts to sabotage the incoming New Patriotic Party (NPP) government led by Nana Akufo-Addo.
Anti-corruption crusader, Martin Amidu haS described the appointments as a “midnight appointments” that goes to confirm his belief that the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) is a looter government that do not deserve to remain in office.

The constitution also said a leader should be of sound judges this is definitely not one. I sense pettiness.
The constitution allowed him to do so,what's the big deal, moreover the incoming gorvement lead by Mr competent promise more job, let's stop the plenty talk and tuasoo
does this man thinks ghanaians are kids? this not a big deal the new president will just transfer the new auditor general to a different public institution as charlotte osei's case
This is malicious intent to outplay the incoming government and by so doing it actually tells the mindset of a man who calls himself a peaceful man and this also gives clear indication that Mahama killed Atta Mills. He should never think of coming to power again and never tries to resurrect his political career in 2020 general election. A cowardice attempt to disarray NPP and Nana Addo for their plans and if I were Nana Addo, I would have reappoint those people to places like Libya,Somalia,Afghanistan,Yemen,Iraq,Syria as ambassadors and maybe they will in return resign due to the political nature of those countries I mentioned above.
mahama (wontumi ntakie.)you said you will retire Nana. today Nana is growing fine and you are reducing weight. tell your wife the philanthropist, her service is needed at La Trade fare. people needs her help so badly, you are still working so she should also work , she shouldn't sleep. appointment nie, recruitment nie, contact signing nie so- we want to see her continuing in her philanthropic mission as we need here if truly you were not sponsoring her with your stolen booty.
this president is very wicked and has still not learn his lesson, he better not accept the appointment
Mahama is very disrespectful to Ghanaians,no wonder his disgraceful embarrassing defeat. He'll go down history as the most ***barred word*** ***barred word*** president this nation has had.His attitude will let NDC remain in opposition for long,he has still not learnt any lesson from his most disgraceful defeat. He's too arrogant and proud. In coming gov't must review all appointments and contracts.
lets all think of what is happening, is this outgoing president acting normal?. thus he have this Nation at heart?. it seems he loves himself more than our country Ghana. after 7th Jan 2017, its said we will see the true length of the frog after its death
Opulence, arrogant, repugnance and ignorance to the highest order of our country for a whole president to act with bitterness and disgruntled in such manner proves that , Manama was and in indeed corrupt trying to solidly clean all all loopholes after he leaves office. Why would a whole out going president act like he's never been to school and in the history of body politics this is not acceptable anywhere in the world. I pity the next generation of NDC and I sense a foul play the reason behind Mahama incessant last minutes appointments believing that his behavior is unacceptable and indignation of his character as an out going president with no respect left for him in any way. If this happens to be true, NDC must say good bye to politics of our beloved country because I have decided never to vote for them again.
I was not against most of Prez Mahama's last minutes appointments based of my usual fair position ans assessment on issues but if fact I'm very sad for this appointment. A 'NEW AUDITOR GENERAL?' OH MY GOD HAVE MERCY ON US
