Government, through its social protection programme, has purchased 216 motor bikes to be distributed to District Social Welfare Officers (DSWO) across the country.
This gesture, according to the Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Nana Oye Lithur, is an effort aimed at “reducing the transportation burden most DSWOs face in their service delivery”.
Nana Oye Lithur made this known when she posted pictures of the motor bikes on her Facebook page on Monday, December 26, 2016.
She wrote, “Government over the years has remarkably integrated vulnerable groups onto its social protection programmes across the country. We have purchased 216 motor bikes for District Social Welfare Officers (DSWO) across the country. This effort is aimed at reducing the transportation burden most DSWOs face in their service delivery.”
