A twenty four (24) year old fake police officer Emmanuel Opoku Agyemang has escaped death at Mbrom a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
The suspect Emmanuel Opoku Agyemang, was nearly lynched Wednesday November 6, 2017 when the people realised he wasn’t a police officer as they were made to believe initially.
The Ashanti Regional Police Visibility and Accessibility Command picked information that the suspect was impersonating as a police man wearing police uniform and also taking bribes from drivers at Mbrom.
Police Officers who came to the scene saved the suspect from been lynched by the people at Mbrom.
One driver Kofi Mensah who spoke to Abusua FM’s Osei Kwadwo said the suspect came to Mbrom early in the morning and started taking monies from drivers.
“He told me to show him my license after doing that he told me to give him 20 cedis before he will allow me to go. His attitude even showed that he is not police officer. If not the police officers who came here, he would have been dead by now” he said.
The Ashanti Regional Police Visibility and Accessibility Commander after interrogation immediately transported him to the Ashanti Regional Police Command.
Emmanuel Opoku Agyemang is currently at the Kumasi Central Police station.
