The Ministry of Communications and the Ghana Independent Broadcasters' Association (GIBA) have finally come into resolution over the contractual agreement between the Government of Ghana and Chinese Communications Company, StarTimes.
The two entities reached a consensus in a meeting between the stakeholders on the digital migration project held on Thursday, September 27, 2018.
The parties have therefore agreed to uphold the government's decision to have an independent company, Central Digital Transmission Company Limited (CDTC), operate and manage the infrastructure for the Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) project and also collaborate in joint public education campaigns on the project.
A statement issued by the Minister-designate for Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah and copied to Peacefmonline.com further read "the parties have agreed to continue with engagement as the project proceeds".
Stakeholders at the meeting included the Ministry of Communication, Information and Finance Ministries, National Media Commission, National Communication Authority, Ghana Independent Broadcasters' Association and K-net Ltd among others.

So after all the noise from the NDC, Sam George, IMANI and GIBA, nothing really has changed? and they agreed? These are pathetic bunch of waste materials.
I think the fault is from the communication minister. she went about it in arrogance. i listened to her last saturday on newsfile and the way she carried herself was too symptomatic of pomposity. she should learn humility kakra wai. i sympathise with the ideologies of the ruling party so i am not playing politics to consider this as coming from the other side. she should be humble small. she must know she's there not necessarily because she's the best person amongst all Ghanaians for that position. ahobrasie ma mpagya ne nkonimdi.
Much ado about nothing. Nothing new has come up so what was all the loud noise. Sometimes we start issues in the public domain that can easily be solved by consultation. I am expecting Hon. Sam George to come out boldly to apologize for the unsavory remarks he made against the Government and the Minister. Sometimes we cry more than the bereaved. The progress of Ghana should be our aim and not what political party has done. TOLERANCE AND UNDERSTANDING SHOULD PREVAIL
So what was all the noise from GIBA and Sam George for? Oh, Mother Ghana!
It is sad when you lack proper knowledge. Bauxite is going to replace oil very soon, now BMW is coming up with an electric 3 series, Mercedes is also coming up with electric C, E and S class all electric. Toyota is coming up with electric corrola. What does it tell you? Massa oil will always be needed but the new gold now is bauxite! Bauxite is the most important element in electric car battery. No wonder the Chinese who have more bauxite than most countries have decided to take it from here.
Politicians in opposition will always create storms in tea cups. Sam George & Co made it appear as if the government is selling our sovereignty to China. The same noise was made about Ghana-USA joint military training. The problem with Ghanaians is we don't go back to the noise makers to question them after the storm dies. For instance, I understand the US army has come and completed their training in Ghana and left: without any Ghanaian girls being raped, abducted or impregnated. We did not even notice they were there. I will be very glad if the media could go back and ask the NDC whether their fears still holds water! That said, government should also ensure all stakeholders are brought on board during discussions about important projects. NPP has information management problem. The country belong to Ghanaians and we should be adequately represented. God bless our homeland Ghana. We did not
So what next, Sam George, after all the tantrums?
