The Police Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has declared Nana Appiah Mensah, the Chief Executive Officer of troubled gold dealership company, Menzgold, wanted. This was after an Accra Circuit Court issued an order for the immediate arrest of all Directors of the company.
Peacefmonline.com sources say the arrest warrant was signed and issued to the police this afternoon in respect of four main directors of Menzgold; Nana Appiah Mensah, Rose Tetteh, Benedicta Appiah, and Abigail Mensah.
The other three whose names appeared on the warrant document were listed on the registration documents of Menzgold Ghana as Directors and are also relatives of Nana Appiah Mensah who is the main architect of Menzgold. Rose Tetteh is his wife, while Benedicta Appiah and Abigail Mensah are his younger sisters.
They all face charges of defrauding by false pretences.
The court warrant documents stated their offense as “Defrauding by false pretense contrary to section 131 of 29/60” for which reason they were wanted.
The warrant further stated “You are hereby ordered in the name of the President forthwith to apprehend the said Nana Appiah Mensah and produce him before court”.
The arrest warrant numbers 01/19, 02/19,03/19 and 04/19, requires the police to locate and arrest immediately the four persons wherever they are.
Nana Appiah, also called NAM1, has been out of the country since September last year, following agitations by customers of his firm for a refund of their investments.
Worried customers of the company, said to have operated illegally while taking investments in ‘gold’ deposits, have been clamouring for the arrest of directors of the company and the immediate return of their investments.
A section of them, numbering about 500, on Tuesday demonstrated in the Ashanti regional capital, Kumasi, to press home their demands for the intervention of authorities to redeem their monies.
The CID boss also said that the INTERPOL may be requested to effect the arrest of Nana Appiah Mensah wherever he is, if need be.

When the BOG and SEC first wanted take action against this NAM1, most Ghanains, customers of Mensgold. and especially the NDC were all against the government saying 'NPP is all against local businesses'. What changed?
DUMP AND IMPOTENT GOVERNMENT THE WRITINGS WERE CLEAR ON THE WALL MORE THAN THREE MONTHS AGO FOR THESE NAM11 TO BE ARRESTED DO WE AS GHANAIAN HAVE TO WAIT FOR PRIME MINISTER ( GABBY ) FACEBOOK POST TO ACT AS PROFESSIONALS AND LEADERS FOR WHICH GHANAIAN VOTERS QUEUED FOR? THESE NUMBNESS AND IMPOTENT LEADERSHIP MUST CEASED. IS IT A STAGE MANAGED ISSUANCE OF BENCH WARRANT? TWO BENCH WARRANTS ISSUED IN THE SPATE OF 3 HOURS? FROM THE COURT AND ONE FROM THE CID. these coincidence speak volume . THese GUYS SHOULD HAVE BEEN PICKED BY PROACTIVE GOVERNMENT LONG TIME AGO. TRUST ME, NOTHING POSITIVE WILL COME OUT FROM THIS SO CALLED BENCH WARRANT. DO YOU REMEMBER THE SHOWMANSHIP WHICH WAS DEMONSTRATED IN PICKING KWESI NYANTAKYI FROM THE AIRPORT? WHAT WAS THE OUTCOME. HE IS NOW WALKING A FREE MAN. DO YOU RECALLED GHANAIAN CID COULD NOT EVEN CONCLUDED INVESTIGATION. FIFA HAS CONCLUDED AND FIRM DECISION WAS TAKEN. DO YOU RECALLED INVESTIGATION INTO THE AUSTRALIA VISA RACKETEERING CASE? WHICH IS STILL PENDING. TIME WILL TELL, THE CLEARING AGENT WILL SURELY CLEAR NAM11. GOD BLESS MOTHER GHANA
So true! They were so much in a hurry that the supreme court warrant is even in ink. So long as NAM1 can give them the "gold" back he is a free man. It is like buying chickens for your uncle in the village to keep for you. He can give you eggs every month as dividends or give you back your chickens if you choose to discontinue. NAM1 should just give the depositors back the "gold" they bought
Everything in Ghana is politics! As soon as Akuffo Addo heard that there were 1.6 million depositors and Kumasi people saying yesterday that they were going to vote JM to retrieve the money for them, the govt is panicking. What changed in the last 24 hours? By this singular action, the government has assumed responsibility to pay the depositors back. Why couldn't these aggrieved individuals themselves report NAM1 to the police for fraud for the police to arrest the guy without govt involvement? Of course they knew that they can never win a criminal case against NAM1 because worst case scenario, NAM1 will give their "gold" deposits back to them. And as long as that metal is the same as what it is stated in the contract, NAM1 will walk Free. NAM1 should just report himself to the police, the fraud case wont fly. The govt will end up using tax payers money to pay these people!
This Govt is so desperate. I will sue supreme court for using Circuit court stamp for bench warrant from Supreme court. ***barred word*** hole Govt.
time changes indeed
Why now.
this is the most concert government i have ever seen. Closing the stable while the horse has bolted. @osei the guy is just smart i would wonder if he has any serious physical asset in Ghana.
They should also freeze all his assets and accounts so that whatever is left can be used to reduce their liabilities. If the money leaves the shores of Ghana, we will all loose albeit those who invested stand to loose either way.
