The Managing Editor of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako Jnr has asked the Ghana Police Service to take a second look at their intelligence gathering capabilities.
Mr Baako was commenting on recent development at Chereponi where two factions are fighting over a piece of land.
The two factions: the Konkombas and Chekosis have been in a conflict that has claimed two lives and left hundreds of others displaced.
Kweku Baako speaking to this issue on Joy FM’s Newsfile programme Saturday said having intelligence can help in dealing with the situation. Apart from that, the Military should mount barracks at various locations to ensure the situation don't escalate.
“Take a second look at our intelligence gathering capability of our district and regional security council. Some preventive intelligence is important . . . so that we can pick up early warning signals. It’s very important. Consider having permanent barracks at some locations can help,” he said.
He also suggested reconciliation and peace talks involving both sides.
