Executive Secretary of the National Identification Authority (NIA), Prof Ken Attafuah has urged Ghanaians to report to the police station anytime they lose their Ghana card.
"If you lose your card, report to the police, indicate how it got missing and then you will be given a police extract which will then be taken to the NIA. They (NIA) will then conduct an investigation and after being satisfied, they will go ahead to issue a new card for you . . ." he indicated.
Prof Attafuah who was speaking in a one-on-one interview with Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM's 'kokrokoo' programme added that even though the registration of the Ghana card is free, Ghanaians will have to pay when it is being replaced or renewed.
"Renewal and replacements attract fees," he said.
