A 12-year-old General Science student of the Akatsi Senior High Technical School in the Akatsi South District of the Volta Region has paid glowing tribute to the Free Senior High School policy, saying, but for the policy, he might have been fishing on the Volta lake.
Master Gadausu Emmanuel who was assisted by Kpodo Bertha, an Agric Science student of the same school added that he might have as well ended up on the street or probably a truck pusher at the market, but for the kindness of free SHS.
His words struck the nerves of the thousands of residents at the durbar of the 30th Anniversary celebration of the Akatsi South District.
He noted that Free SHS has done to him and his family more good.
Thanking the President who was in attendance with a high powered delegation, he said my mother can now save more resources for other things.
Young Emmanuel noted that he and many Ghanaian children adore you. May you reign forever because free SHS is the heartbeat of our future.
He therefore urged all Ghanaian children to embrace and enjoy the policy by studying hard to justify the huge investment being made.
The President who was humbled by the story thanked the young man for his kind words and prayed that Ghanaians will continue to support him and his government to do more to improve the lives of everyone.
The President is on a two-day tour of the Volta Region.
He began the tour on Monday November 4, 2019 and will end it today, Tuesday November 5, 2019.
He is in the company of the Energy Minister, John Peter Amewu, Roads and Highways Minister, Kwesi Amoako Attah, National Security Minister, Kan-Dapaah, and Local Government Minister, Hajia Alima Mahama.
The rest are the Chieftaincy Minister, Kofi Dzamesi, Volta Regional Minister, Dr. Archibald Letsa and his Deputy, Rev. Johnson Avuletey, the Regional NPP Chairman, Makafui Woanya among others.

He might be too young for fishing but there's nothing wrong with being a fisherman. If others were not fishing where would we get fish to eat? This education is rather making things worsen in Africa. This very platform is owned by someone who had no education. Despite wouldn't have archived all this if he went through education system.
He was coach to say it
Kwami, if it comes to that the young man will be a better fisherman and change the face of fishing in the land. How I wish all our fishermen had a minimum qualification of SSS...
Pray you get a job to do after School or else you will go back to continue fishing. God have mercy
we really thank God for President Akuffo Ado for the free SHS, even hell knows its a very good thing, the best thing that has ever happened to Ghana and every child rich or poor can have access to shs. the cocoa scholarship which was meant for poor children were rather used by rich children whose parents were connected. thank God for free SHS, whether you are poor or rich or even if you are a nobody's child you can access it. and that makes it very special. God bless our President for such a bold heart and confident to do this. you are the best. i dont belong to any party but I can see what is right when i see them
God bless the President and God bless our homeland Ghana for this novelty. SHS is doing a lot of good and the full impact will be realized not many years from now.
Mahama and NDC failed to impact lives of Ghanaians with such initiatives instead they jettisoned tax payers' money into frivolous ventures.
Akuffo Addo, how much did you pay this small boy to share a false tribute? Is it by force to believe what is not true?
It is very possible because recently Legon admitted a 12yr old boy.
12 years boy in SHS aba ghana
