First Atlantic Bank has donated a fully equipped classroom block to the Blind Unit of the Cape Coast School for the Deaf and Blind.
As part of the Bank’s commitment to positively impact our communities, the fully furnished and equipped classroom block has been commissioned and handed over to the Cape Coast School for the Deaf and Blind on Saturday, 30th December, 2019.
The commissioning event was attended by Nana Kwadwo Addai II, Abura Chief, Traditional Authorities, Mr Philip Inkoom, Metro Director of Education, Regional Educational Officers, Venerable Rev Degraft Johnson, Cape Coast Anglican Diocese, the Clergy, Staff of Cape Coast School for the Deaf and Blind as well as Management and Staff of First Atlantic Bank.
The facility was formally handed over to the Headmaster, Mr Setum Ametewee at the event.
The Classroom Block which is intended to address the infrastructure needs of the school comprised; 4 Classrooms, 2 Teachers Offices, 1 a Staff Common Room, 4 Washrooms and a Store Room.
Additionally, several learning aids to support the teaching of the students were also provided and installed in the respective classrooms.
On behalf of the school and students, the headmaster, Mr Ametewee in his speech expressed his profound gratitude to First Atlantic Bank for the gesture.
In 2018 the bank also donated a fully equipped Mother and Baby Unit to the Talensi District Hospital in Tongo.
