The Minister for Agriculture, Dr. Akoto, has made a passionate appeal for support towards the implementation of one of Ghana's flagship policies, Planting for Export and Rural Development.
He explains that his appeal seeks to expand Ghana's country's tree crops export capacity.
Dr. Afriyie Akoto made this known at the 43rd Session of the Governing Council of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) of the United Nations (UN) held in Rome.
He also met with the Director General of the FAO, Dr. Qu Dongyu. Discussions with him centred especially on what the Minister was doing in Ghana to bring about transformation of the economy and what FAO as a UN body, can do to support the country's agenda.
