Railways Development and Business Development Ministers Joe Ghartey has said the world deadly Coronavirus outbreak all over the world has taught humanity that money and material things do not help much all time.
He established the need for everyone to do away with the love for earthly-things but to re-prioritize and focus on God and help to humanity during a visit to the chiefs and people of Akwamu, Manya Krobo and Yilo Krobo Traditional Areas in the Eastern Region, following the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic.
“We got to realize that humanity is important, it's more important than a lot of material things because no matter how many cars and houses you have, or how many shirts and dresses you have, you are stuck at home. You can’t even go out to show off.” He said
Adding that “There is more to life than just material things. Life cannot be just a pursuit of material things. At the end of the day, we all have one destiny and that is to meet out maker [God].”
Mr. Ghartey clarified that he’s not inescapably against hard work and the acquisition of properties but giving people an opportunity to think deeply about the purpose of life in these hard times.
Cleanliness, he said must be key in our daily activities now and after the outbreak.
“Things will never be the same but we have life and Ghana needs all of us to push the country forward. Let’s keep personal hygiene very serious at this crucial moment.” He advised
