President Nana Akufo-Addo will later Monday, address the nation on the upcoming voters’ register compilation, the Director of Communications at the Presidency says.
According to Eugene Arhin, “the time for the address will be communicated in the course of the day.”
It will be a rare occasion of the President addressing the nation twice in a space of 24 hours, following his 13th televised address on the government’s management the Covid-19 pandemic.
The expected address follow the Supreme Court’s green light to the Electoral Commission to compile a new voters’ register.
The EC argues the current register is overly bloated.
The opposition NDC however, vehemently campaigned against the compilation and challenged same at the Apex Court.
After the Supreme Court ruled that the EC can compile a new register without accepting the current ID as an identification document, the NDC expressed disappointment but urged all Ghanaians to come out and register.
The exercise begins on Tuesday, June 30.
The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, will on Monday address the nation, ahead of the commencement...

Why are ghanaians banned from entering Europe and the Schengen regions??? Citizens from Ghana will not be allowed to travel into Europe because of the higher rocketing of the COVID 19 in that country. Is the President Nana Akufo .Addo aware that Ghanaians are banned from entering into Europe because of the high spread of the virus and the government scarely handling of the COVID 19 situation. The continuous closing of Ghanas borders to the outside world is a clear indication that Ghana and its COVID 19 situation is not save and healthy for visitors to enter and to get out. Based upon that the E U commission on June 11, presented its recomendations on the reopening of its borders to some international countries excluding Ghana. But the President and the COVID 19 Team are behaving that all is well with Ghana. In his 13 COVID 13 addresse, the President of the republic of Ghanad mentioned nothing about the status of continous closing of Ghanas borders to the outside world. And he never mentioned or commented on why his own citizens had been excluded from entering into Schengen Regions. The COVID 19 situation in Ghana is not under controll and all is not well in that country. A clear indication, which prompted the EU Commission to banned Ghana from the list of contries E.U citizens could make holydays. The much tensions created by the up coming voters registration exercise which has compelled the government to send military presence in some parts of te Volta and Oti regions, has created suspicion, that the political atmosphere in Ghana is precarious, therefore Ghana is not on the list E. U and her citizens are not to vist that country. The whole world is in a state of schock of the presence of heavy armed personel troops in the regions of OTi and Ketu South, Volta Region. Concerned non ghanaians are asking: Is an impending war forseeing in that region? Is ghana heading for civil war as it had happened in many countries?? The deployment of the soldiers in the Volta Region particularly, has created and deepened an already fabricated tribal tensions and alienation of the majority of the Ewe people, who have and suffering from the hands of the present day government. All is not well in that country, the political tensions amidst the high risk of the spread of COVID 19, and if the NPP government is not carfull the situation could escalate. History in many parts of the world should teach us to avoid such unwaranted escalations.
This man paaaaaa, what is wrong with him. Addressing nation when independent commission is going to conduct new voter registration? Didn't he address the nation yesterday? Is he a lunatic or what? He only came and stood there and extended health workers incentive but never thought to chip in few words about voter registration but find it necessary to come and address the nation the same time jean mensa also says she is going to address the nation. President and his real vice president Jean mensah both want to address the nation today. Ghana paaaaa nie! Everything is basaaa, when the head is spoilt, there is no order.
