Electoral Commission (EC) Chairpersons, Mr Samuel Tettey and Dr. Bossman Asare have cautioned persons with expired Ghanaian passports to renew them before they attempt registering their names in the ongoing new voters' registration exercise.
The EC deputy Chairpersons, speaking in an interview on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo' programme, took notice of various complaints by some Ghanaians not permitted to use their passports during their registration exercise.
According to them, eligible individuals can still be disqualified if they possess expired Ghanaian passports except they opt for the Ghana card or guarantors.
"A passport is presumed to be valid" only when it has not expired, Mr. Asare told host Kwami Sefa Kayi.
