The Krachi Youth Association in the Oti Region has added its voice in the call for justice for the gruesome murder of their kinsman, 10-year old Ishmael at Kasoa in the Central Region by two teenagers; Nicholas Kini and Felix Nyarko.

The Association sympathizing with the family for their loss has called on the law enforcement agencies and the justice system to conduct proper investigations to bring all perpetrators and accomplices to face the full rigours of the law.

In a statement copied to Peacefmonline.com to register its displeasure of the heinous crime for a supposed money ritual by the two teenagers, Krachi Youth Association reminded the nation of morally corrupt television content prevailing nowadays.

“The relevant state agencies and regulators such as National Media Commission, National Communication Authority, Ministry of Communication and the Information Ministry as well as the Ministry of Chieftaincy and Culture must as a matter of urgency expedite actions on media content review or introduce a special censorship regime on all of our media space especially on social media platforms and to ban all adverts that seek to influence the public for Fake and Quick money from Mallams, Pastors, ‘Sakawa’ and ritual pontificators,” the statement read.

Below Is The Full Statement of the Krachi Youth Association:

The Krachi Youth Association, calls for justice for the gruesome murder of their kinsman, Ishmael by two teenagers, Nicholas Kini and Felix Nyarko. These alleged murderers perpetrated their heinous crime for a supposed money ritual. The association express our profound and deepest condolences to the family over this unacceptable act and loss.

Information circulating in the media suggested that the two suspected teenagers may have been induced by a money ritual content they watched on television and subsequently influenced by a spiritualist to help them become rich.

The association, therefore, calls on the law enforcement agencies and the justice system to conduct proper investigations to bring all perpetrators and accomplices to face the full rigours of the law.

Similarly, the association reminds the State of morally corrupt television content on our media space. The relevant state agencies and regulators such as the National Media Commission, National Communication Authority, Ministry of Communication and the Information Ministry and the Ministry of Chieftaincy and Culture must as a matter of urgency expedite actions on media content review or introduce a special censorship regime on all of our media space especially on social media platforms and to ban all adverts that seek to influence the public for Fake and Quick money from mallams, pastors, ‘Sakawa’ and ritual pontificators.

In the estimation of the Association, media regulations must be very stiff to sanction any media hub that violates content acceptability.

We also call on the government to provide psychological and financial support to the parents of Ismael in these trying times.

Additionally, the ministry of interior, National security ministry through their agencies must strengthen their Security operations in areas classified as national security threat zones to minimize the spate of some bizarre crimes we hear every day of our lives.

We also call on all parents and guardians to monitor the movements of their children at all times and ensure they are protected and safe at all times.

Once again, the executives and entire Krachi citizens pray for the reposed soul of their son Ismael. May God use his death to correct the wrongs of society as far as money rituals are concerned.

Long Live Kaakye
