Support ECG Boss To Succeed - Charles Owusu Tells ECG Staff

An avowed member of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Mr. Charles Owusu has sounded a clarion call to the workers of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) to unite and offer their support to their Managing Director (MD), Mr. Kwame Agyeman-Budu as he strives to bring enhanced efficiency in the operations of the company.

The Staff front of ECG seems polarized, with one faction accusing the MD of corporate governance infractions and the other faction mounting a spirited defense for the MD at a time where some places in the Greater Accra and Ashanti regions have been experiencing power cuts due to the ongoing works on the transition lines by GridCo. This unfortunate development has caught the wrath of a lot of political actors from both sides of the political divide.

Speaking on Kokroko on Peace Fm yesterday morning, Mr. Charles Owusu decried the actions of the ECG staff and entreated them to get their priorities right and more importantly, support the MD to succeed.

“What is going on at ECG is a clear misplacement of priority where delicate issues affecting the operations of ECG have been sacrificed for petty workplace politics” Mr. Charles Owusu has said.

He further stated that “in all humility, I would want to impress upon the staff of ECG to look at the bigger picture and offer their unflinching support to their boss as he works assiduously to deliver power to our homes and workplaces at all times. They should commit themselves to the very things that will keep our lights on. These internal bickering would only deny them the time and energy to provide acceptable services to Ghanaians”.
