Mobile Money Agents Association of Ghana (MMAAG) has petitioned the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) and the Ministry of Communications over a newly introduced tax by the Government on cash-out Commission.
Speaking to Peace News, the Public Relations Officer of MMAAG Mr Charles Addo explained that the new tax which takes effect 1st June 2021 will see Government taking 4% of the 40% cash out Commission meant for Mobile Money Agents.
He expressed displeasure at the development and urged Government to engage Mobile Money Agents in discussions to arrive at a favourable decision for all.
He also added that MMAAG will undertake further actions if nothing is done about this development.
