Former Head of Monitoring at the Forestry Commission, Charles Owusu, has fired shots at the fighters of the anti-LGBTQ+ bill.
According to him, the opponents of the bill comprising the Lead Counsel for President Nana Akufo-Addo during the 2020 Presidential petition, Lawyer Akoto Ampaw, Prof. Raymond Atuguba; the Dean of the University of Ghana (Legon) School of Law, politician Charles Wereko-Brobbey among others are nation-wreckers.
Lawyer Akoto Ampaw and his cohort have argued that the bill violates fundamental human rights, therefore kicking against its passage into law.
However, the proponents made up of Ningo-Prampram Parliamentarian, Sam George and seven other Members of Parliament including private lawyer and lecturer at the Ghana School of Law, Moses Foh-Amoaning and 95 per cent of Ghanaians, according to a CDD-Ghana survey, have indicated they won't renege on their decision to have the bill passed to criminalize LGBTQ+ practices in Ghana.
Supporting the bill during a panel discussion on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo' programme, Charles Owusu asked lawyer Akoto Ampaw and his like-minded people; ''Why don't they give their children to gay people to sodomize them?''
"It shocks me that a person who has been born through a male and female union, not that a man and man or woman and woman gave birth to him/her, this person will have the boldness to say publicly that we should accept a man and man, woman and woman to have sexual intercourse. Such a person is not wise!'', he further exclaimed.
