Works And Housing minister, Francis Asenso-Boakye says the government with immediate effect will commence the second phase of sea defence to protect the people of Adina, Agavedzi, Salakope, and Amutsinu communities and others to the east of Blekusu in the volta region.
The minister made this known in a press briefing whiles addressing the recent tidal waves in some communities within the Ketu South constituency.
He expressed his sympathy to the affected people and assured the government readiness to solve the problem.
“I wish to sincerely empathize with our people whose properties worth a fortune have been ravaged following this unfortunate incidence.” Francis Asenso-Boakye said
Adding that, “The Ministry of Works and Housing (Government) notes the sense of urgency for undertaking the second phase of the project to protect Adina, Agavedzi, Salakope, and Amutsinu communities and others to the east of Blekusu.
“To this end, the Ministry is commenced urgent steps to implement the second phase of the project. The Ministry has finalized the Evaluation of the relevant proposal to start the works under the second phase of the project.”
