The Founder and Leader of the United Front Party (UFP), Akwasi Addai Odike says the Chinese key involvement in illegal mining in the country is worrying.
He claimed they lure traditional leaders and key influencers with a colossal amount of money in their quest to operate ‘rich reserved forests’.
“The Chinese want to colonize African countries economically, and they are gradually winning the cause,” he noted.
Adding that, “So they will dedicate to us what we have to do in our own country.”
Akwasi Addai Odike who was discussing issues about illegal mining popularly known as Galamsey on NEAT FM’s morning show, 'Ghana Montie' also insisted that the government is losing the fight against canker because of the unwillingness of some authorities failing to do their job.

We know this about 20 years ago, but our policy makers don't get it. The issue here is that someone cannot come to your house unless you allow him or her to come in. Ghanaians and Africans love and glorify money and paying of money to get their way is an easy thing for Chinese. Ask those Ghanaians who have lived in China before and they will confirm this. We are being plain ***barred word***, and these Chinese will continue to bribe us (Chiefs, government officials etc) with money and destroy our future and our great country. We cannot blame anybody, but ourselves. Why are we allowing this to happen with those entrusted with state power appearing powerless? - We are simply being ***barred word***, irresponsible and selfish to allow this menace to happen. If we enforce our laws rigidly without fear or favour, this menace will stop within a year. If we are careful, we will not have a country anymore.
