Today marks exactly 66 years since Ghana attained independence from British colonial rule.
The Independence Day Parade to mark the occasion is currently underway in the Volta regional capital, at the Volta Regional Youth Resource Centre, located at Adaklu-Tsrefe - Ho.
This year's celebration is on the theme: “Our Unity, Our Strength, Our Purpose”.
The President of Guinea Bissau, Umaro Sissoco Embalo, who is the Chairman of the Economic Community West African States (ECOWAS), is the special guest at the parade.
