The Municipal Chief Executive(MCE) of Awutu Senya East, Mrs. Anita Love Obo Amissah has commended private basic schools in the Awutu Senya East Municipality for their immense contribution to the economic growth of the area.

She revealed that private schools while providing quality education for children in the area have also created employment for people contributing to the development of the municipality.

She stated there are over 400 private schools as compared to the 47 public schools within the municipality.

Mrs. Obo Amissah, spoke on behalf of the Central Regional Minister, Mrs. Justina Marigold Assan, as a Special Guest of Honor at the occasion of the grand opening and the 2nd graduation ceremony of Noble Captains Academy in Buduburam, Kasoa, a suburb of the Awutu Senya East municipality in the Central Region.

The ceremony was under the theme "Impacting The Future Of The Child In A Competitive World, The Role Of Quality Education".

Mrs. Obo Amissah mentioned infrastructure deficit as well as running of shift system in the schools within the municipality as major problems facing the municipality and said the private schools have done great work to however better the quality of education despite these challenges.

She lauded the management and leadership of Noble Captains Academy for their dedication and hard work in enhancing education in the municipality.

Mrs. Obo Amissah again admonished parents to be responsible and commit more towards the education of their children and the future of the country.

She however cautioned parents to ensure the proper supervision of their wards saying "we should know what our children are watching on TV and the internet, so we do not lose them".

She called for holistic development of children stressing "parents must be conscientiously involved if children are to be natured holistically in terms of the mind, heart and hands".

A member of the Board of Directors of Noble Captains Academy School, Mrs. Augustina Sackle Sackey Aikins, on her part, noted that sustenance and maintenance is one of the major problems in the country, so urged management of the school to do their best to maintain the place.

She also appealed to the teachers not to stop reading and learning as technology is sending the world far.

The Director of Noble Captains Academy School, Mr. Alex Obu-Simpson added his philosophy of education is based on his belief that true learning can only happen through holistic development of the child and that children should have a goal to become creative and inspired to make impact, emphasizing at Noble Captains Academy, "we recognize that innovation cannot occur without taking risk and therefore we teach the children to be resilient".
