Campaigner for good water bodies, Nana Dwomoh Sarpong hopes to ensure clean water bodies have been consigned to the grave after admitting illegal mining popularly known as ‘Galamsey’ has been a destroyer.
He bemoaned in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show, 'Ghana Montie' that the government has failed all friends of water bodies in its fight against galamsey.
According to Nana Dwomoh Sarpong, it seems some individuals are cheery to ‘waste clean water and land for gold’.
“I feel people are deliberately destroying water bodies and the lands. I wonder if common sense runs through our brains,” he noted.
He accused both the incumbent New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the largest opposition New Democratic Congress (NDC) of doing nothing to protect water bodies.
“They all play politics with this issue,” Nana Dwomoh Sarpong said in the interview.
