The Service wishes to appeal to the general public to be patient as anyone found to be connected with this unfortunate incident will be severely dealt in accordance with provisions of the Service's Code of Conduct.
Thank you.
Background
According to a report filed by UTV's Jacob Kubi, the woman who was receiving treatment at the hospital was alive when she was neglected at Gomoa Ojobi in the Central Region but died a few days after.
An eyewitness reported seeing the ambulance in the bushes and assumed they were taking the victim to the hospital, only to return later to find the woman lying helpless.
Further checks made by Jacob Kubi indicate that management of the hospital decided to discharge her because no family member was coming for her.
Speaking in an interview with Jacob Kubi, Dr George Prah confirmed that the woman was an accident victim who was receiving treatment at the hospital.
However, they decided to take her to Gomoa Ojobi because that is where the woman claimed she was from and moreover, she was behaving like a mentally challenged person.

I PERSONALLY DONT GET IT?A CITIZEN OF GHANA GETS SICK AND GOES TO GOVERNMENT HOSPITAL ONLY TO BE TOLD TO PAY A CERTAIN AMOUNT AND WITHOUT PAYING YOU ARE NOT BEING TREATED,NOW THE QUESTION IS WHO IS THE OWNER OF THOSE HOSPITALS?ESPECIALLY AT KORLEBU.IT SOUNDS VERY ***barred word***.THOSE HOSPITALS ARE BEING RUN BY THE TAX PAYERS MONEY SO IF THE PERSON IS BEING RUSHED TO THOSE HOSPITALS THE ONLY THING TO DO IS TO TAKE CARE OF THEM.I THINK WE NEED A CLEAR AMSWER FROM GOVERNMENT ON THIS ISSUES
Ghana is heavily bleeding, there's a serious leadership crisis accross board, from the presidency to every state institution. Irresponsible, extremely corrupt, highly incompetent, visionless, arrogant and abusive inhumans are what we currently have.
This should not be white washed. It is a murder/manslaughter case and police must come in. It is not only NHS investigation but criminal case as well. Impunity at our hospitals are too much with some doctors and nurses abusing patients. Officers and health professionals find culpable must be sacked and prosecuted. If they don't then we as citizens must get the relevant authorities to take action.
The GHS is a joker institution in this country. Managers of Tarkwa-Nsuaem polyclinic behaved same but Western Regional Health Director is sitting unconcerned and nothing has been done to remedy the situation .
My country Ghana is in dire state. I CALL FOR A BLOODLESS COUP, GET RID OF NPP AND NDC.
