Female job applicants in the country have been advised to fiercely resist attempts by male employees who demand sex as a condition for offering them job because such offers degrade the status of those who yield to such sexual demands by those employers.
Mrs Gifty Opoku- Agyemang a Counselor at the Tesano Shiloh Temple of the ICGC and Chief Executive Officer of Grandeur Consult gave the advice at the 41ST graduation of the Accra Girls Vocational Institute.
She encouraged females in school to endeavor to overcome challenges which will cross their paths as they pursue their courses and work harder to achieve their goals in life. She said with determination and hard work young females can rise to higher heights and contribute to national development.
The Principal of Accra Girls Vocational Institute Ms Edna Boafo said as part of measures by government to encourage females to pursue technical courses which have been traditionally considered as male dominated trade areas , government has introduced a tuition free pilot program in Electronics for females which is being run by four vocational schools in the country including the Accra Girls Vocational Institute.
She described vocational education as a major avenue to addressing youth unemployment in the country.
