Jehovahs Witnesses would from August 2nd 2013 begin a series of three-day District Conventions throughout the country aimed at instilling trust in Gods word, the Bible.
The Conventions, which would be conducted in English, Ewe, Ga, Dangme, Frafra, Nzema, Twi and six American Sign Languages, is on the theme: Gods Word Is Truth.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in Accra on Wednesday, Mr John Kingsley Ampah, News Service Coordinator for the Witnesses convention in Accra, said the significance of the chosen theme underscored a core family value for Jehovahs Witnesses.
Witness families embrace the Bible as the most trustworthy guide and source of advice in these troubled times, he said. Mr Ampah expressed optimism that the convention, which is open to the public, would benefit the delegates in most practical ways.
He said each member of the family has an appropriate advice in the Bible and when applied would reduce problems in families and lead to happy family life. Mr Ampah said the convention would give families and individuals fresh new resources for family and personal study based on the Bible.
He said the Accra Assembly Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses located at Baatsona, near Nungua, would host an estimated 40,000 convention delegates in batches, for 13 successive weekends. Throughout the country, there would be 86 conventions in 27 cities.
Mr Ampah said the highlight of the event is an intriguing talk entitled What is Truth which would be delivered each Sunday of the convention programme. He said all the three days of the convention programme sessions would begin at 0920 hours.
Worldwide Jehovahs Witnesses number more than 7.6 million and are active in more than 230 countries.
