Christians throughout the country on Wednesday gathered for church services to celebrate the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ.
The birth of Christ is significant since it paved the way for mankind to be saved from their sins.
In Accra, churches were decorated with Christmas trees, lights, ribbons and flowers.
The Day was also marked with family re-unions, parties, as well as the exchange of messages of reconciliation from friends and relatives.
At the Kaneshie branch of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, the congregation, to the glory of God, danced to drumming and singing from the church band.
Rev Mrs Patience Akator, resident pastor of the church in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, urged Christians to re-dedicate their lives to God during this Christmas celebrations.
She charged Christians to be submissive to the teaching and the word of God, adding that Christians have lost focus on the celebration of Christmas.
She urged Christians to draw their relationship closer to the word of God, and be practical in their activities.
