The Head Pastor of the Methodist Church at Kukuom, capital of the Asunafo South District of the Ahafo region, has called on Ghanaians to embrace persons of different faiths in order to accelerate the development of the nation.
According to Most Rev John Peprah, who is also Chairman of the Association of Churches in Kukuom, differences in faith should rather serve to unite the nation in an atmosphere of brotherly love and care, not as a source of conflict.
Most Rev Peprah made the call when he and other members of the Association of Churches joined the Vice President of the Republic, Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia at the Kukuom Central Mosque on Sunday, 26th May 2019.
Vice President Bawumia is in the Ahafo region as part of his nationwide Ramadan tour, which has already taken him to the Oti, Volta, Eastern, Central, Western, Western North, Ashanti and Upper East Regions.
Using himself as an example, Most Rev Peprah indicated that although he has many Muslim friends, he has never entered a mosque before, and commended Vice President Bawumia for embarking on a tour to promote religious acceptance, which has allowed him to enter a mosque.
“Today is the first time I’m entering a mosque, and I’m glad that it is because of the presence of H.E. Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, who has brought about this historic development.
“Every nation is developed by unity, commonness of purpose and brotherly love. What we are all praying for is that the peace, unity and brotherliness we are currently enjoying as a nation should continue forever.
“Our religious differences should not divide us. We all have our different beliefs. These differences should rather bring us together to develop and advance the nation. For us as leaders of the church, our prayer is that God, who chose to make you the leaders of this nation at this time, will help you to deliver on the assignment he has given you for this nation.
Rev Peprah asked for God’s guidance and help for the Vice President as he continues the Ramadan tour, saying “May God be with you and protect you in everything you do and everywhere you go. May your activities bring greater glory to Him.”

GOD IS LOVE
I STOPED ATTENDING THE METHODIST CHURCH BECOURSE OF THINGS LIKE THIS. SOME OF OUR MINISTERS ARE SO POLITICAL THAT IT REFLECTS IN THEIR PREACHING AND EVERYTHING. LET A CHURCH MEMBER ENTER INTO A MOSQUE AND SEE WHAT HE WILL DO OR SAY. SOME OF THEM ARE SO BIASED TO OTHER PARTIES IN THIS COUNTRY BUT SO CLOSE TO ONE SINGLE PARTY. I BET YOU IF THE FORMER PRESIDENT MAHAMA HAD GONE TO THE MOSQUE THE REV. MINISTER WILL NEVER GO THERE AND LOOK AT WHAT HE IS SAYING. AM HAPPY AM OUT OF THAT CHURCH AND I BELIEVE MANY LIKE ME ARE GETTING OUT. WHAT IS THIS
Then the next time the pastor should join Kwaku Bonsam and Nokpokpo shrine to worship with them. We are allowing politicians to manipulate our religious leaders
Rev. Peprah's title should be Very Rev. and not Most Rev. He is not a Presiding Bishop in the Church to carry the title of Most Rev. Always try and check things like this in order not to create confusion.
Thant "Differences In Faith Does Not Make Us Enemies" is very very true. But for the christian and pastor to therefore join muslims in the mosque for prayers means he does not know his faith and most likely his faith and christianity are not rooted in Christ Jesus
You hit the nail right on the head!!!
Dr.Bawumia is very very intelligent. Nana Addo is a true visionary for seeing the potential in this young man. He is a blessing to npp family and an asset for Ghana. God bless Nana & Bawumia
@ Abbew stop talking sh....t ok and respect yourself
You guys don't know barwumia, all he is doing is to use this type of trick to get to the presidency, and next thing is to term the country into ISIS nation. Sit down be a Christian ediot!
Of course, differences in faith doesn't mean Christians are enemies of moslems. Living together peacefully also doesn't mean we should be equally joked with all persons of religious beliefs. The fact that a moslem decides to visit your church doesn't mean you should do same. I will not called myself a pastor or a reverend minister or bishop and go and sit on the floor in a mosque in the name of peace. In any case, are moslems and Christians fighting? If you've gone for your bribe to do the bidding of barwumia who is a serial liar, in order to paint him as a peacemaker don't come and tell both moslems and Christians to throw away thier religious principles for someone's parochial interest. It is not by force for a moslem to dine with a Christian and vice versa. We don't necessarily have to go to each others mosque or church to be at peace. This is a clear stunt by barwumia. Tell me any moslem who has beaten a Christian in Ghana here. Owusu bempah's foolishnessss was the reason some moslems youth wanted to burn his church. Have you seen any imam go public prophesying that Duncan William's or Mensa Otabil will die? Moslems won't do that because most of them are wiser in terms of public pronouncements. In any case, how sure are we that people such as owusu bempah and obinim are Christians. They are fetish priest parading as Christians. Let the moslem youth deal with them when they misbehave and stop this Christian moslem coexistence in peace nun sense. We are already living in peace.
