Mr Aldis Ozols, Managing Director (MD) of A1 Diesel Limited, has underscored the need for government to come out with a Legislation, to control smoking-vehicles while on the road.

Mr Ozols who made the call when he interacted with the Ghana News Agency at his office on the Spintex Road in Accra, said  when this is done, it will go a long way to protect both motorists and the traveling public, against health hazards posed by smoking-vehicles.

He said,  at times, it is an eyesore to see a vehicle parked in the middle of the road, discharging a lot of smoke, just to cause environmental pollution, and nuisance to other road users.

Mr Ozols, therefore, urged authorities of the Driver Vehicle and Licensing Authority, and the Motor Traffic and Transport Department of the Ghana Police Service, to ensure that only  vehicles with roadworthy certificates are allowed on  our roads.

The A1 Diesel MD, stressed the need for stakeholders in the transport industry, to play their various roles  to help bring sanity into the industry, in order to help move the nation forward.

He advised drivers to continue to observe traffic regulations to help reduce carnage or road accidents.

Mr Ozols further advised drivers to avoid reckless driving, over-speeding, wrongful overtaking, and drunk-drive, to ensure an  accident-free Easter.

AI Diesel was established in Ghana in 2012, to provide a specialized range of services to the automobile industry.

The company is a specialist in the re-manufacturing of all kinds of electronic diesel injectors, fuel pumps and turbo chargers.
